Flooding

Call 919-217-2200 to report flooding on the roads.

Do NOT drive into flooded roadways or around a barricade; Turn Around, Don't Drown! Water may be deeper than it appears and can hide hazards such as sharp objects, washed-out road surfaces, electrical wires, chemicals, etc. A vehicle caught in swiftly moving water can be swept away in seconds and 12 inches of water can float a car or small SUV, 18 inches of water can carry away large vehicles.

Don't walk through flood waters. It only takes 6 inches of moving water to knock you off your feet.

Tree Blocking Road

Call 919-217-2200 to report a tree is blocking the road.

Traffic Signals/Lights Not Working

If traffic signals are not working, lights should be treated as a four-way stop. If power is restored and you observe the following:

  • Flashing red - Lights should be treated as a stop sign.
  • Flashing yellow - Drivers should proceed with caution only when traffic permits.

If we experience power outages throughout Town, officers may not be able to direct traffic at all intersections. Proceed slowly and safely according to these listed guidelines.

Trash/Recycling

Residents will receive notifications via social media and email only if there are disruptions or changes to trash/recycling schedule.
