Bayard Thurman “BT” Poole was born in Knightdale, North Carolina, on December 30, 1929, where he lived most of his lifetime. He was the youngest of four brothers and two sisters born to Addie Phelps and Bayard Thurman Poole, Sr.
BT joined the Navy as a young man and served his country during the Korean War. He married Donnie Margaret Williford and they had three children who were born and raised in the Knightdale area. After leaving the service, BT worked with Pilot Life Insurance in sales as well as other jobs in the sales industry. He truly lived life on his own terms and loved nothing better than playing practical jokes on his children and grandchildren. They still laugh today at some of his comical Christmas gifts! He passed away in 2008.
