John Lucas was an Air Force and Navy veteran. He joined the Navy after his time in the Air Force and served with the Naval Construction Battalions as an Engineer. Mr. Lucas had over 23 years of military service. He later worked for the U.S. Postal service for over 13 years. Mr. Lucas was a loyal member of the American Legion for over 19 years. He was a member of Knightdale Post 529 and served as their Service Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Lucas worked with other local veterans and assisted them with personal and service-related issues.
