Leonard Vinson was known as a wonderful Christian and strong family man. He was born one of 12 children in his family. His family farmed in the Knightdale area. He graduated from Knightdale High School in 1954 and joined the Air Force. He came back to Knightdale and became a railroad engineer. He retired from Southern Railroad.
