KNIGHTDALE CELEBRATES 2024 CREEK WEEK STORYWALK RIBBON CUTTING

KNIGHTDALE, NC – The Stormwater Division of Knightdale’s Public Works Department held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its 2024 Creek Week StoryWalk on Monday, March 11. Mayor Jessica Day and officials from the Town of Knightdale and East Wake Regional Library gathered to recognize the activity and community resource, which will be available for a limited time at Knightdale Environmental Park.

The StoryWalk kicks off several events taking place during the month of March to celebrate Creek Week, a celebration of local waters throughout North Carolina. This year’s StoryWalk highlights the book “Water Is Water: A Book About the Water Cycle,” by Miranda Paul. Creek Week is hosted regionally by the Clean Water Education Partnership (CWEP).

“Creek Week and our annual StoryWalk provide a platform for the community to engage with their surrounding environment,” said Ike Archer, Stormwater Program Manager for the Town of Knightdale. “These events help promote and strengthen the connection between our community and their local water resources, with the hopes of fostering a legacy of environmental stewardship here in Knightdale.”

The Creek Week StoryWalk in Knightdale is available now through April 11, 2024. For information on the StoryWalk or other Creek Week activities, contact Ike Archer at 919-217-2255.
