Clyde Brooks Crowder was born on April 07,1931 in Wake Forest N.C. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and honorably served his country for three years. He earned the rank of Corporal during his time of service. His medals included the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, the National Defense Service Medal, ROK Presidential Unit Citation, and the United Nations Service Medal.

He worked driving 18-wheelers for 44 years for Rogers Oil, AG Boone, and Cary Oil. 

He moved to Knightdale in 1967 and lived there until his death in 2013. He loved driving his trucks, motorcycle and boat, fishing, and taking his family camping. He was one of those individuals that could repair or build almost anything form working with his brother to build his parents retirement home to rebuilding motors for his daughter’s cars.  He was always willing to help both family and friends. 

Clyde Brooks Crowder, 82, of Knightdale, died Friday, September 13, 2013, with his family by his side. C.B. was a wonderful husband, father, and papa.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian A. Crowder; daughters, Linda Harper and husband, Stan of Raleigh, Brenda Wester and husband, Carl, of Knightdale; son, Clyde Crowder and wife, Susan, of Zebulon; 3 grandsons, Jonathon Crowder, Miles Wester, and Matthew Crowder.
